Having worked as a system engineer at General Mills, Ankit had a strong background in engineering which he utilized in the JA Company of the Year program, where he met Pavel. He also worked as an engineer at Telstra, and an Australian delegate for entrepreneurship to both Indonesia and a ‘think tank’ in China. His previous roles have been varied - he’s worked as a front end UX designer, a UI developer, a community manager, and as head of marketing - and while at JAA he decided to turn his attention to a new problem. Pavel and Ankit had realized that as a result of unsustainable practices, a universal problem was evident and that there was potential for a business idea.
So Ankit and Pavel then made a tough decision to quit their jobs and work on this problem. Once they realized that data-use inefficiency had a direct negative impact on energy efficiency, they decided to pivot into that direction. More importantly, however, they realized that while everyone was focusing on the supply side of energy efficiency and data consumption, no one was looking at solutions for the demand side.
So that's what they decided to tackle, and Fasade was born.
"We are at a critical inflection point with technology, half the world is going to come online for the first time in an age of Blockchain, 5G, and IoT to create more data at a faster rate than ever possible. As globally connected digital citizens, it is our responsibility to act as custodians of this planet for the future of our species. Technological progress cannot come at the cost of the environment." - Ankit Jaannath
